GDP of Montenegro rise in the first quarter of 2022

Montenegrin Statistical Office last week presents the preliminary data for the quarterly gross domestic product (QGDP) of Montenegro for the first quarter of 2022, at current and constant prices, by expenditure approach, by ESA 2010 methodology. GDP of Montenegro in the first quarter of 2022 was 1 026.7 million EUR, while in the same period of the previous year it was 875.3 million EUR. The real growth rate of the gross domestic product in the first quarter of 2022 was 7.2% and it was higher than the same rate in the EU. Montenegro on Course for Stronger Economic Recovery in 2021

The Western Balkans region is rebounding from the COVID-19-induced recession of 2020, thanks to a faster-than-expected recovery in 2021, says the latest edition of the Western Balkans Regular Economic Report, Greening the Recovery. The outlook for the region has improved significantly, with GDP growth now projected to reach 5.9 percent in 2021, after a 3.1 percent contraction in 2020. Growth in the region is projected at 4.1 percent in 2022 and 3.8 percent in 2023. Foreigners bought real estate worth 153m euros

In the first eight months of this year, the total investments of foreign citizens and companies in Montenegro amounted to EUR 524.44 million, according to new preliminary data from the Central Bank of Montenegro (CBCG). Of that amount, almost 153m EUR is related to real estate investment in our country. Among the countries whose citizens gave more than EUR 1 million for real estate in Montenegro in the first eight months are as many as 22 countries.
