At the heart of Kotor’s sporting tradition lies the Water Polo Club Primorac, a powerhouse making waves in the water polo world for decades.
The Water Polo Club “Primorac” was established in 1922.
With its rich history and impressive collection of trophies, “Primorac” stands as a beacon of sporting excellence in the heart of Montenegro. The club’s trophy cabinet is a testament to their unwavering pursuit of excellence.
Over the years, they have secured numerous titles and accolades in domestic and international competitions.
The Water Polo Club Primorac history – in a few words
In 1960, “Primorac” entered the First League of Yugoslavia. In the 1977/78 season, the club reached the final of the Cup Winners’ Cup, where “Ferencvaros” from Budapest defeated him.
In the 1985/86 season, wins the double crown, winning the cup and championship of Yugoslavia. The club won the Montenegrin championship in 2007 and 2008 and the national cup in 2009.
The Water Polo Club “Primorac” achieved its greatest success in the 2008/09 season, when it won the Euroleague and the European Super Cup.
The club’s commitment to nurturing young talents and instilling a sense of discipline, teamwork, and dedication has been key to its longevity and success.
Many of Montenegro’s most celebrated water polo athletes have honed their skills within the ranks of Primorac, and the club’s training facilities and coaching staff continue to be instrumental in developing future stars.
