The Most Beautiful Encounter
Between Land And Sea
Located in the heart of southeast Europe at the southern tip of the Dinaric Alps and bounded by the Adriatic Sea, the small European state is a land of geographic diversity and unspoiled nature. Home to five national parks, several UNESCO World Heritage Sites, the largest freshwater lake in the Balkans, and second longest canyon in the world, Montenegro is the world’s first ecological state, a concept that is incorporated into the country’s Constitution since 1991.
Everything Close At Hand
Montenegro’s coastal towns are interconnected by the Adriatic Highway (Jadranska magistrala) that follows the coastline, and with other parts of the country by regional roads. Phase 1 of Montenegro’s largest ongoing investment project, the new Bar-Boljare motorway connecting the coast with the country’s mountainous north, and onwards with Serbia, is due for completion in 2022, which is set to significantly reduce travel time between destinations.
Montenegro has two international airports: Podgorica International Airport, facilitating regular flights to major European destinations, less than 100 km away from the coast, and Tivat International Airport in close proximity to all major coastal towns. In addition, Dubrovnik International Airport is reachable within 1 hour and 30 minutes.
